Shannon Savage, 5th Grade Lead Teacher/Individualized Student Plan Coordinator
Shannon Savage joined the Nativity school of Worcester in July 2010 to take on the position of lead 5th grade teacher and individual student plan coordinator. Prior to joining the Nativity family Shannon taught grades 2 and 5 at Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School from 2004-2010. Shannon also served as the varsity girls soccer coach in her time at Abby Kelley Foster.
Shannon has been passionate about teaching her entire life. At South High Community School in Worcester, MA. Shannon had the opportunity to student teach in a kindergarten classroom. Her enthusiasm and zeal for the profession was nurtured as she matriculated to Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT, earning her degree in Child Study as well as completing a student teaching program and earning her licensures in nursery-3rd grade with an inclusion special education degree. Mrs. Savage also holds Massachusetts licenses for grades pre-k-2 and 1-6. Shannon continued her education at Lesley University in Cambridge MA from 2006-2008, earning a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in literacy. Mrs. Savage believes in educating the whole child and seeks to build relationships with students and families.
