Who We Are

Yachira Torres, 8th Grade Lead Teacher & Community Service Coordinator

Yachira Torres was born in Puerto Rico, moved to Worcester at the age of 4, and has been lucky enough to call Worcester home since then. She graduated from North High School and attended the College of the Holy Cross. During her time at Holy Cross, she studied abroad in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and was the recipient of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette's Visions Young Leader Award (2010). Upon graduation, she served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Holy Cross and also became a Teaching Fellow at Nativity Worcester. She has had the opportunity to fulfill her vocation as an educator and community advocate. Yachira earned her Master's in the Art of Teaching and Master's in Community Development and Planning from Clark University. from Clark University and became a member of the Board of Governors at the Central Branch YMCA. Her goal is to keep her students and community at the forefront of all she does. She served as the 6th Grade Lead Teacher at Nativity Worcester and is now the 8th Grade Lead Teacher and Community Service Coordinator.
