Our Vision
For 20 years, Nativity Worcester has provided tuition-free access to a high-impact, Jesuit education for boys from economically disadvantaged communities in Worcester. The lives of nearly 300 young men have been transformed through the Nativity experience. Today, girls, like boys, face obstacles to becoming the leaders they are capable of being. Now is the time for Nativity to expand access to our vibrant community and grow our impact by providing a transformative education and 12+ year commitment to girls. We are committed to opening our doors to girls in 2024 and forming young women into tomorrow’s leaders alongside our young men.
Our Opportunity
Today, access to a quality education for girls from economically disadvantaged communities is one of the most pressing challenges facing young people and our society. 1 out of 5 students from these communities does not complete high school, compared to 99% of Nativity graduates. The middle school years are a formative time to lay the foundation for long-term success. Imagine a holistic middle school education and graduate support program for girls that nurtures their unique aspirations, ensures high school completion and access to post-secondary education, and makes a long-term social and emotional impact. This is the bold future we envision at Nativity.
Our Call to Action
Access & Impact: The Campaign for Nativity School of Worcester is a $20 million fundraising campaign that will enable Nativity Worcester to reach our goal of opening our doors to girls in the summer of 2024, as well as strengthening our educational endowment to support all of our students for years to come. As of October 2023, Nativity has raised $14M against its $20M. With your support, we will fund start-up costs and construct new classrooms and collaborative spaces that enable us to welcome the first classes of girls to Nativity in July 2024.
Our Campaign Priorities:
- Curriculum, Programming Design, and Scholarships for Girls: $5.5 M
- Construction of New Classrooms and Collaborative Spaces: $4M
- Nativity Fund: Fund scholarships for boys and annual operations for the next four years: $6M
- A Promise for the Future: Growing Nativity’s endowment: $4.5M
