Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Anti-Racism
Below is a statement on Nativity Worcester’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism, as well as to fostering a sense of belonging where all students, graduates, families, and staff can thrive.
Nativity School of Worcester students, graduates, staff, faculty, Board of Trustees, and Trustee Associates are committed to elevating our work as an educational institution to support anti-racism work and foster a safe, inclusive community for all. We are committed to looking inward to examine our own policies, biases, and institutional role in advancing racial equity and belonging for all. We recognize that this work is never-ending and requires collaboration with other community organizations to aid our progress. We aim to educate every stakeholder in the Nativity Worcester community. We seek to serve our students through culturally and linguistically sustaining practices, while supporting our faculty and staff in their learning and implementation of diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism work. The school’s mission rooted in Ignatian values calls on us to serve students from marginalized communities, making these efforts critical as we stives to educate the hearts, minds, and spirits of all. Together, we strive to build a school community where justice, equity, and belonging are not just values—but daily practices that shape the lives of our students and the future of our world.
