Why Nativity?

A school where your child is known, challenged, and called to serve.

Nativity School of Worcester is a private, tuition-free, Ignatian middle school serving Worcester students of all faiths from under-resourced communities. Here, every student is known personally, challenged academically, and supported as they grow into confident young men and women for and with others.

Because cost should never stand between a child and an exceptional education, Nativity provides small classes, meaningful relationships, and individualized support at no cost to families. Our rigorous academic program, extended school day, after-school opportunities, and service-learning experiences give students more time, guidance, and opportunities to discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and reach their full potential.

At Nativity, education is about more than preparing students for the next test or the next school. Guided by our four pillars — Scholarship, Character, Service, and Strength — students learn to lead with compassion, act with courage, and use their gifts in service to others. Our commitment continues long after eighth-grade graduation through high school placement, financial assistance, and lifelong Graduate Support.

Summer Session is required

The Nativity school year begins in July with a required three-week Summer Session for all new and returning students. This essential part of the Nativity experience is an extension of the school year, not an optional summer camp. Students strengthen their academic skills and prevent summer learning loss while participating in service learning, enrichment, extracurricular activities, and community-building experiences. Just as importantly, they develop relationships with classmates and teachers and begin the academic year feeling prepared, confident, and connected.

Families should consider this required July commitment before beginning the application process.

Choosing a school is an important decision, and you do not have to navigate the process alone. Our Admissions Team is happy to answer questions.

How to apply

We are excited to learn more about your child and family. Nativity accepts applications from students who live in the City of Worcester and will enter 5th or 6th grade in the upcoming school year. Follow the steps below to begin the admissions process, and please contact our Admissions Team if you have questions or need assistance along the way.

1

Submit the inquiry form

Complete the short inquiry form below to tell us about your child and how we can best support your family through the admissions process. This is not the application, and it does not commit your family to enrollment. After you submit the form, a member of our Admissions Team will contact you with next steps.

2

Create an SAO account

Nativity uses the Standard Application Online (SAO). Create an account to begin or continue your child’s application and select Nativity School of Worcester as the school receiving it.

Contact us before you payPlease contact the Admissions Team before submitting payment so we can provide Nativity’s application fee waiver code.

3

Have your calendar ready

After we receive your inquiry, a member of the Admissions Team will contact you to discuss Nativity, answer your questions, and invite you to the school visit. Have your calendar handy so we can identify a visit or admissions event date that works for your family.

4

Visit Nativity for an admissions event

Every applicant family is required to attend the Open House on October 24, 2027, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Open House gives students and caregivers the opportunity to meet members of our community, experience Nativity, and better understand our academics, extended day, student support, four pillars, and required Summer Session.

Optional information sessions are also available for families who would like to learn more or ask questions before Open House.

5

Submit and complete your application

Complete every required section and submit your application through SAO by February 26, 2027. If you have already started or submitted an application, log back into your account and confirm that the application is both submitted and complete. Missing records, recommendations, or other required materials may prevent the Admissions Team from completing its review.
