The Campaign For Nativity School of Worcester

In October 2023, Nativity Worcester launched Access and Impact: The Campaign for Nativity School of Worcester, an ambitious $20 million campaign aimed at establishing the Julie Power Girls Division, ensuring that young women can receive a transformative education.

This bold initiative reflects Nativity Worcester’s commitment to expanding access to a life-changing education and to growing its impact. Read more about our vision, impact, and how you can join this historic endeavor!

Access and Impact: The Campaign for Nativity School of Worcester

For 20 years, Nativity Worcester has provided tuition-free access to a high-impact, Jesuit education for boys from economically disadvantaged communities in Worcester. The lives of nearly 300 young men have been transformed through the Nativity experience. Today, girls, like boys, face obstacles to accessing a quality education, creating significant barriers to becoming the leaders they are capable of being and impeding social and economic mobility. Now is the time for Nativity to expand access to our vibrant community and grow our impact. We have boldly envisioned extending our mission to provide a transformative education and 12+ year commitment to girls.

Given the early success of our Campaign, we opened our doors to girls in 2024 and began forming young women into tomorrow’s leaders as our community has done for boys. Previously, there was no comparable school to Nativity for girls in Worcester and no Jesuit education for girls in the K-12 space in Massachusetts. With the help of many supporters, we have changed this reality and are providing access to an inclusive education that meets each child’s individual needs and the opportunity to thrive. With the continued success of our Campaign and further giving to Nativity, we will welcome more girls to Nativity and invest in the growth of our entire community, strengthening the transformative Nativity experience for all.

Nativity has strived to improve its impact each year and provide students with a dynamic, holistic educational experience that enables them to excel. Nativity’s community-centered
programming, Jesuit values, small class sizes, co-teaching model, extended school day and
year, and individualized approach to education provide students with an opportunity to become
their best authentic selves. Nativity’s unique Graduate Support Program ensures long-term
success via mentorship, tutoring, and career services through high school, post-secondary
education and beyond. The Nativity experience is unlike any other.

  • On average, our students graduate from 8th grade at or above grade level in math, reading and language arts, having arrived to Nativity often below grade level.
  • Since 2003, Nativity has graduated 249 students.
  • Over the last ten years, 99% of Nativity graduates have completed high school or
a specialized high school program (compared to the national high school graduation average of 80% for students experiencing economic insecurity).
  • 91% of Nativity graduates (ages 18-22) are attending 2-4 year college (on average 40%
of students from economically disadvantaged communities continue on to college).
69% of all graduates who attended college are first generation college students. Over half of our graduates are actively volunteering within our Nativity community

A critical piece to our comprehensive campaign is expanding our student population. By 2026, we expect our student body to be 136 boys and girls (doubling our impact from before we opened the Julie Power Girls Division). The Campaign continues to raise funds for the below priorities that will ensure we have the support and resources to transform more lives than ever before!

  • Investing in Educational Equity by renovating the school building and funding the Girls Division start-up, educational and annual costs for five years: $9,500,000
  • Strengthening Our Community by supporting The Nativity Fund which funds educational costs for boys, programmatic enhancements, and annual operating costs for five years: $6,000,000
  • Securing A Promise for the Future by establishing endowed scholarships and funds to ensure long-term sustainably: $4,500,000
  • Total Campaign Goal: $20,000,000

With your support, together we will deepen our school’s impact by doubling the number of students we graduate, ensuring that both girls and boys from under-resourced communities have access to equitable and holistic educational opportunities. Together, we will boldly make this vision a reality and strengthen the Nativity experience for all students, now and in the future. Learn how you can answer the call below!
